A long time ago the original flyingchair web site was one of the most read english language blogs in Hong Kong. Under the guise of the flyingchair I also launched the first ever Asia Blog awards which attracted over 1500 submissions and were a runaway success.

Then one day I ran out of ideas and got bored. I tried a few come backs under other names but nothing ever stuck.

So, I am bringing back the flyingchair. Unfortunately all of the old material (over 2500 posts) has gone missing which is a shame but I think there are still a few people around who remember the name.

In case you are wondering, the name “flyingchair” comes from the way my first name was translated for my first ever business cards. Said in a different tone it becomes “fei yi”. Literally, flying chair.

I’ll post occasionally when I think of something interesting on the world of media, current events (primarily Hong Kong), and my major interests which include music, fitness, dragonboating, and photography.
